The Gaylor Electric fabrication department preassembled 4000 feet of one-inch conduit and shipped it out to the job site. By waiting to thread the wiring until after the pipes were installed, project time was cut in half.
While the engine barges go through assembly stage by stage, they ran copper tubing throughout the facility providing the power for the plant. The copper tubing allows for constant change in the factory due to aviation jobs always being different.
