Birck Nanotechnology Center
Purdue University
West Lafayette, Indiana
This three-story building has 40,000 square feet of general laboratory space and 29,500 square feet of pollutant controlled areas which include Class 10-100-1000 clean rooms.
Gaylor Electric constructed the electrical infrastructure for this highly advanced research facility. Electricians, working in conjunction with suppliers, university officials, architects and other trades, carefully calculated loads and precise locations for diverse and extensive sets of equipment.
The Birck Nanotechnology Center is the first-of-its-kind institutional clean-room facility in the United States with research now under way within a host of disciplines – agriculture, biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, medicine, pharmacy, and physics – with projects ranging from nanoelectronics and nanomanufacturing to public health.
